Binding Options
We offer a range of binding options to finish off your quilt in style.
- Option 1: Attach Binding Only: This option involves attaching your prepared and supplied binding to the front of your quilt. We will then return the quilt to you so that you can complete the hand-stitching on the back. Your binding should be equal to the quilt perimeter plus 18″.
- Option 2: Make and Attach Binding: This option involves you supplying the fabric for us to make the binding and then machine-stitching it to the front of your quilt. We will then return the quilt to you so that you can complete the hand-stitching on the back.
- Option 3: Make and Machine Binding: After making the binding with your supplied fabric we can complete the binding process by machine. With this technique a stitching line is visible in the binding on both the front & back of your quilt. This process uses 1.5″ binding strips.
- Option 4: Make and Hand Binding: As for Option 2, but after attaching the binding to the front of your quilt we will hand-stitch it to the back for you. This option takes longer but results in a beautiful, hand-crafted finish.
For your binding we recommend using a fabric that is the same weight and quality as your quilt top. If you provide us with prepared binding, it should be 18″ longer than the total perimeter of your quilt to ensure that there is enough to make those mitred corners.
Whichever binding option(s) you choose, our goal is to make your quilt look beautiful and finished.
